Park Hyun-young

Park Hyun-young is the Director of the Department of Precision Medicine at the Korea National Institute of health(KNIH). Before being appointed as director, she served as the director of the division of rare and cardiovascular diseases at KNIH.

 

Dr. Park has been trying to implement a data sharing policy in Korea for the last decade and developed the Clinical Research Information Service(CRIS), clinical research data management system(iCReaT), and Clinical and Omics Data Archive(CODA). She has also developed a women's health research program in Korea and is the project leader for women’s health research in KNIH.

 

She received a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1990 at Yonsei University College of Medicine. She served a residency in internal medicine at Yonsei University Gangnam Hospital and then was a Fellow in Cardiology at Severance Cardiovascular Center. She has also published more than 170 articles and is one of the key investigators of the pilot project for the ‘National Bio Big Data’ of the Republic of Korea.
